As required for enforcement of the Animal Welfare Act, veterinary medical officers from the U.S. Department of Agriculture regularly conduct inspections of facilities that house animals for research. In August of 2022, USDA inspectors conducted a focused review of animals, facilities and associated records at a facility on the UW–Madison campus.
USDA inspectors found the site to be in compliance with the AWA.
