As required for enforcement of the Animal Welfare Act, veterinary medical officers from the U.S. Department of Agriculture regularly conduct routine, unannounced inspections of facilities that house animals for research. In March 2023, USDA inspectors conducted a review of animals, facilities and associated records at UW–Madison’s College of Agricultural & Life Sciences and School of Veterinary Medicine.
USDA inspectors found the center to be in compliance with the AWA.
